The annual medieval fair in Ibiza town returns this year in its early May slot of Friday 7th to Sunday 9th. Past visitors will know that the fair is a combination of a medieval style market with products from the time, herbs, spices, food, crafts, leather goods and so on, combined with masses of entertainment. Strolling musicians, actors, acrobats, camels all compete for our attention with not a DJ in sight or earshot!
This year Ibiza council have set a budget of €100,000 (that's about 6.2 billion Dirhams, the currency of the time) for the decoration of Dalt Vila's streets and the setting up of a minimum of 60 market stalls. The work will be carried out by a private company whilst town hall bods will organise the spectacular opening ceremony and all the surrounding cultural acts like concerts and theatre.
Once the programme of events is finalised we'll publish it in a language you understand in Spotlight news.
