The Mediterranean's most important sailing Regatta

Spain's main travel trade fair of the year, FITUR, is taking place in Madrid at the moment and representatives from Ibiza are, of course, there.

San Antonio is promoting itself not only as a fun, sun and beach summer destination, but also as an out of season sporting venue with some big events planned for this year already.

The Mediterranean's most important sailing Regatta, La Ruta de la Sal, will finish in San Antonio this year once again at Easter and we'll have more details of this nearer the time. Easter also sees the Ibiza Mountain Bike tour which was so successful last year, and also on the blocks is a new event, the San Antonio Urban Mile, which will take place in October.

An International Sports Tournament for University Students, Euroibiza, will take place from 28th April until 3rd May when around 2000 competitors from 12 countries in Europe and the Middle East will be involved.

And to show off the town's culinary skills, one of its top chefs, young José Miguel Boned from the restaurant Es Ventall, will be representing both Ibiza and the Balearic Islands by producing some fantastic food for visiting politicians, gastro journalists and famous people at the fair.
