Ibiza's sunrise city, Santa Eulalia, celebrates its patron saint's day this month, albeit with a bit of belt tightening on the budget side of things. I'm afraid that gone will be the traditional fireworks display as money going up in smoke is not the done thing in these recessionary days.

Nevertheless, there's a full programme of sporting activities and competitions, exhibitions as well as entertainment and feasting. We've picked out the more important events which take place in the marquee in town unless stated otherwise.

11/2 20.30 Free tortilla for all

11/2 21.30 Live performance by Project Mut of their new cd Poesia

12/2 11.00 Solemn Mass and Folk Dancing show at the church

12/2 17.30 Street performances by the spectacular Acrobati-K

12/2 21.00 70's Festival and live concert by Lorenzo SantamarĂa

14/2 17.00 Sleeping Beauty by the Moscow Ballet at the Congress Palace
