The prestigious Blue Flag awards for beaches have been announced for 2010 and Ibiza will have 15 in total. To gain (or retain) a Blue Flag no less than 32 criteria covering aspects of environmental education and information,water quality, environmental management, and safety and services must be complied with.

The 15 Ibiza beaches are Cala Bassa, Cala Conta (photo above), Cala d'Hort, es Migjorn, es Cavallet, Cala Vadella, Santa Eulalia, Cala Llonga, es Cana, Cala Llenya, es Figueral, Cala San Vicente, Puerto de San Miguel, Arenal Grande in Portinatx and Arenal in San Antonio
