salt free water will improve everyone's lives

There's a massive capital spending programme going on in Ibiza at the moment which will provide good quality water to island households. €13.5 million is being spent to provide the infrastructure necessary to pump and store the water from the already existing desalination plants to all 4 corners of the island.

Next in line to receive the desalinated water is the tourist resort of Playa d'en Bossa. The lads are already working on the storage tank at Can Bufi which will feed calcium free water to PDB 'in a fortnight.'

The lovely salt free water will improve everyone's lives and also prolong the lives of dishwashers and washing machines. It will also mean the end of hotel reviews where clients complain about salty shower water!

Bring it on.

also stephen; this can not be the reason because water quality here is ALWAYS changing out of the season - no matter if we got tourists in pdb or not

because in summer season the demand on the wells is very high with thousands of holidaymakers in pdb. now it's only you and your girlfriend in pdb, there's less demand on the wells which were topped up with lots of fresh rainwater throughout september.

Water Connection

Playa den Bossa will soon have "quality water",
according to the Town Hall of San Jose.

As work continues at Can Bufi on connecting the area to the network,
sources claimed it would take just a few more weeks to be completed,
ensuring that the majority of the municipality would than have
desalinated water within easy reach.

i have to say, i dont know why but we have really much better water here in playa den bossa since around 5 weeks. before it was REALLY (!) salty, now its different but still miles away from what i was used to have in germany. looking forward for the 'new water' here in playa den bossa :)
