83,000 passengers

Good news and not so good news when travelling to and around Ibiza.

By the end of this holiday weekend, which marks the official start of the Ibiza tourist, season 592 planes with a capacity of 83,000 passengers will have landed at the airport.

In Ibiza town, the new super bus station which should have been operational six months ago, still hasn't seen a bus or a passenger!

The station can't open until a service road, currently under construction, from the ring road is finished. An Ibiza town council spokesman said that the bus station would be up and running 'at the start of the season,' though tellingly, he didn't say which season.
