a cool €71 million
2009 is only a few days old but already the airport authorities in Ibiza are planning for 2020. Passenger demand is forecast to rise dramatically by then, and let's face it, we don't need 20/20 vision to see how important an airport is to an island whose main industry is tourism!

The National Airports Authority (AENA) and central government will be spending a cool €71 million over the next three (ish) years in improving facilities for passengers and planes in Ibiza.
Perhaps most important for the general public will be increased numbers of check in desks and four new 'fingers' (mobile corridors) which will allow direct access and egress to and from the
planes and terminal without having to queue for one of the buses which currently transport people.
