World Travel Market: Ibiza

swamped by the presence of Mallorca

The World Travel Market in London is one of the most important annual showcases for tourism in Ibiza. This year is particularly critical as economy after economy slides into recession and destinations like ours really have to fight for every tourist cent!

Local politicians who have been attending the WTM have complained that the Balearic Islands' stand has been totally swamped by the presence of Mallorca, which has around 90% of the space, whilst Menorca and Ibiza have hardly any.

Unfortunately, when the biggest island gets 10 million tourists each year and makes by far the biggest contribution to the promotional budget, that's what happens.
