A Tale of Two Ibiza Beaches

Take two beaches, one in Ibiza and one in San Jose, and you'll find two very different methods of improving them.

In Talamanca Ibiza council are improving the beach for the summer by adding lots of facilities. A large cabin has already been constructed which will house toilets, showers, the red cross facilities, and safety deposit boxes for small valuable items belonging to beach users.

Meanwhile, across Ibiza in Cala Moli, San Jose council are going back to nature. They've announced that this summer there'll be no concessionaires on the beach. This means that the small shingle cove will be free of beach loungers, giant parasols and piles of air-beds for hire – just as it was before the days of mass tourism.
