great news for wheelchair users

Better late than never is certainly a phrase which could be applied to Cala de Bou, Ibiza's Plan of Excellence. More well known as San Antonio Bay, there's been a lot of controversy recently about the road works on the street popularly referred to as 'The Strip.'

When the season officially started on 1st May and the many hotels, apartments, bars and restaurants opened for business, the works to improve the road were far from complete. The Mayor of San Jose personally visited the area and promised he would do everything in his power to get everything finished by 15th May.

We're happy to report that the road around the bay now looks absolutely smashing with new wide pavements, bright shiny tarmac, new bus shelters, lots of benches in the shade, gardened areas and great news for wheelchair users – low kerbs and plenty of access points.

The road itself is one way for motorists, with parking bays and obviously much quieter for pedestrians and anyone wishing to sit on the terraces of the many bars along the route. Holiday makers going to San Antonio Bay this year can certainly look forward to a great time.
