Fiesta in San Jose
afro wigs and loon pants
Ibiza's largest borough, San Jose is already celebrating its annual Fiesta. The official San Jose day is March 19th but you know what it's like here in Spain – any excuse to down tools and have a party – so we actually started the Fiesta on march 1st.
The flags are out all over the village as they build up to the
big day and beyond with a programme of fun, entertainment, sports, competitions, lots of food and drink and of course the obligatory fireworks display.
Items on the agenda include all day football competitions, a wine making competition, sports like judo, waterpolo, and clay pigeon shooting, and talks and conferences on wide ranging subjects such as Rajasthan and the menopause!
Undoubtedly the main events are the big nights of entertainment when the church square plays host to top bands from the island and beyond. The village is decorated especially for the big flower power
evening when we relive the 60's and 70's by digging out our afro wigs and loon pants and generally having a groovy time to a psychedelic backdrop projected onto the church.

We've picked out a few of the best dates for your diary:
March 14 21.00 Wine tasting in Es Galliner
March 16 21.00 Rock in S'Olivera
March 17 22.00 Live music with Peter Colours
March 18 21.00 Live music with Música Nostra
March 19 21.30 Live Music with Los Fulanos and fireworks at midnight
March 24 21.30 Flower Power Festival
Have a great Fiesta!
