Ibiza Christmas - The Photos

Ibiza's festivities are well under way as we run up to yet another Christmas. We wagered an average of €45 each trying to win the enormous El Gordo lottery prize. Unfortunately, Lady Luck chose Asturias as the area on which to bestow the main €270 million jackpot.

A pity really because some lottery cash would have come in handy to buy our traditional Christmas seafood - demand is so high that the price of prawns and shellfish have rocketed in the last few days.

Ibiza town itself is not exactly awash with last minute shoppers, though some shops have actually opened today (Sunday) to capture some more of our hard earned cash.

The main shopping actually takes place just after New Year as we rush to buy gifts for Epiphany when we celebrate the arrival of the Three Kings on January 6th.

We braved cold, blustery winds one evening last week to bring you these photos of Ibiza town's Christmas illuminations and markets.

Merry Christmas to all our readers
