a good attendance is guaranteed

Fancy spending some time in Ibiza during the world cup? Well get your boots with the go faster stripes on because so does everyone else!

We’ve already mentioned that Ibiza is expecting a bumper year as tourist numbers based on reservations have increased dramatically. The hotels, though they have not finalised the occupation figures for May are expecting a ‘significant’ increase on past years.

And it seems that the World Cup Competition in Germany in June is having little detrimental effect either. A combination of special offers for families and discounts for early booking have drawn the crowds and a good attendance is guaranteed. Let’s face it, not everybody wants to be stuck indoors watching football, though that option exists in the many bars and hotels here that will be showing every minute of the competition.

Another factor is the rise of Spanish tourism on the island. Many people pop over from the mainland for a long weekend or 4 night break and these people are unlikely to be bothered by the world cup - especially given Spain’s tendency to underachieve in the competition.
