twisty-turny roads of San Jose
Not likely! It's weeks until our famous clubbing season starts but there'll be no rest for the wicked in Ibiza this weekend. The fates have decreed that the two noisiest events in the motoring calendar coincide on the island's roads in the next few days.
First to hit the tarmac are the hundreds of classic (built before 1965) motorcycles which will be taking part in the 12th annual Ibiza Island Rally. The two strokers will be belching blue fumes as they roar sedately round the highways and byways on an as yet unannounced route on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Meanwhile for real speed, budding young Per-Gunner Anderssons will be chucking their souped up Renault 5's round the twisty-turny roads of San Jose on Saturday in the annual San Jose Rally. Covering practically every road in the borough at breakneck speed with handbrake turns and cornering on two wheels, the drivers of the cars, which are held together with stickers, are competing for the prize of the job as a taxi driver in summer.
So good luck to everybody in the two rallies and please note that we're only joking about the stickers and taxis.
