a summer feeling in the air

Despite the frightful weather in the rest of Spain – seven Provinces are on bad weather and flood alert today – Ibiza is enjoying one of its best Octobers for years. The Balearic weathermen, or meteorological officers to give them due deference, have just announced that the average temperature so far this month at the airport is 22 degrees centigrade.

This is only one decimal point behind the highest average temperature of 22.1 in October 1988, the weathermen point out that there's still another week left and forecast a rise in temperatures for it! But not only is the temperature higher, there has been very little wind this month, which means that there is still very much a summer feeling in the air, making trips to the beach a pleasure.

So here's to the best Autumn since records began in 1961.
