A German resident of the island has been threatened with a year in jail by the Chiropodists College of the Balearics unless he toes the line. Apparently, his German qualification is in 'care of feet' and not 'chiropody' as required in Spain. How corny!
Anti-motorway protesters were fined €900 for illegally locating their 'No Volem Autopista' banners in unauthorised positions. The banners were places on a paper recycling container, a supermarket façade, and on the front of San Antonio's medical centre. The protesters ire has been raised by the fact that San Antonio council only put a fine of €200 on megabucks disco Amnesia when it opened without permission this summer.
