Visitors to the Belgian capital last weekend were surprised to see one its most famous landmarks had taken on an Ibiza stylee. The Manneken Pis, the world famous statue of a little boy relieving himself 24 hours a day had been dressed in traditional Ibicenco garb to publicise the island to the good people of Brussels.
Ibiza tourist bosses were on hand at a special reception where typical Ibicenco food like 'burrida de rajada', 'guisat de peix', 'arros de matances' and 'sofrit pagés' was served up, and even better, the water which normally flows from the statue's tiny appendage was replaced with our famous liqueur 'Hierbas.' And if that wasn't enough eight crack country dancing teams gave expert displays of jigging about to a flute and drum accompaniment.
Next week in honour of the Belgians we will be draping San Antonio's world famous shouting man statue with five packets of Brussels sprouts and eating chocolate all day!
