hottest October day ever
If you've been on a hunt for a Red Hot October then you should have been in Ibiza. Those fascinating people at the meteorological office have just told us that we're about to have the hottest October since 1961.
Not only have we had the hottest average temperatures for the month, at 22.4 degrees - 2.6 degrees above average, but we've also had the second hottest October day ever, AND we've hardly had any rain! Contrast this with last year when all it seemed to do was rain - very different from the record breaking hot summer of 2003.
Weathermen are blaming a plume of hot air from Africa which is dominating the Mediterranean for our beautiful Autumn weather, whilst the Spanish mainland is experiencing torrential downpours.
