Visitors to the Marina and Dalt Vila areas of Ibiza will soon notice the distinct lack of the big rubbish containers on wheels which currently 'litter' the streets.

The council has plans to invest €300,000 in underground rubbish containers which will do wonders for the aesthetics of the town. The system has already been tried out successfully in one of the streets of Ibiza and will now be used in the old town which enjoys World Heritage City status and will be more in keeping with its historical importance.
