The possibility of yet another ferry service has been announced by the port authorities in Alicante. It seems that a foreign consortium wants to revive the service between Alicante and Ibiza and San Antonio which last ran over 20 years ago. The project is apparently well advanced but just requires the financing to be fitted into place. It is envisaged that 'super fast' ferries will run the route, carrying 400 passengers and 70 cars, with a journey time of 3 hours. With one trip per day in winter and two in summer this ferry will be ideal for journeys to and from southern Spain.
