Enjoy the San Carlos cultural festivals

A grand mix of activities for all

If you haven't yet caught the San Carlos cultural festivals, the good news is that there's still plenty going off until the end of November. The main event of the festivals kicks off today at midday with a mass in honour of the patron saint and presided over by the Bishop of Ibiza. At 1.30pm, there's traditional Ball Pagès dancing followed by a tasting of traditional local food products.

Moving into the early evening at 6pm, there will be young person's talent competition, followed by a concert by the Migjorn Orchestra. The day will finish off with a flourish at 11pm with a firework display organised by Mals Esperits.

If you miss any of this today, never fear since there's plenty to follow. On Saturday 7 November, there's the seventh Gran Prix Pagès Festival in front of Es Poble bar organised by the Pitiusas Association with prizes being given to participating teams at 3.30pm.

On Sunday 8 November there's a photography and painting exhibition in San Carlos's Club de Mayores at 1pm and in the evening there will be concert given by Toc Roc in front of Peralta bar.

Finally, putting an end to the celebrations, on Sunday 22 November there will be public party in Las Dalias with performances by Duo Paradise, Voces de Peralta and a guest star tribute to the shopkeeper Vicent des Correu. The event ends on a quiet note on Sunday 29 November with a writer's presentation featuring authors Rebecca Beltran and Luis Ferrer.

There's a real mix of cultural activities in these festivals and it gives a great glimpse of the richness of the history of the island. Go and join in on any of the rest of the programme and experience a new side of the island.
