Gay Ibiza - When to Visit

The season starts every year from May onwards. That’s the trigger to get those costumes into the suitcase and grab your little sister...get onto the plane and off to the island.

From May to June you’ll be able to enjoy the island fully as the “Sleeping Beauty“ awakens. Now it’s time for couples, many come to recover with their partner, or from their partner but there’s also many “island” fans, who’ve come to love this relaxed time of year on Ibiza. The beaches are still empty, the bars and restaurants not over-crowded, the temperatures not too high and it’s ideal for a long walk along the beach or a trip around the island. Importantly the beloved beach clubs are open, so you can relax with a glass of Cava and let your soul go for a ride... of which more later.

July and August are more turbulent. Muscle Mary's and Fashion Queens styled to within an inch of their lives strut their stuff. Clubs have opened so it’s a whirl of Partying and Catwalking. You know what it’s all about; “Who’s the most beautiful one of all?“

September is the month of the Closing Parties from the beginning to mid September, except for the Anfora in the heart of the old town (Dalt Vila). This is the only Gay Club on the island and doesn’t close until mid October.

Talking of October – its golden days are also tempting. The sea is still warm and the beaches aren’t full anymore so it’s ideal for togetherness, if you know what I mean.
