One thing I am VERY proud of when I talk of Ibiza is her beaches. Considering how small she is as an island, the amount of beaches she has to offer is just out of this world. And the best part is that – just like humans – each one has its own unique beauty.
When it comes to beaches everyone has their opinion on what they want, some want privacy whilst others want them busy busy busy, and the great news is Ibiza has them all. On every beach
I have seen Gay couples at some point, so once again Ibiza shows her love for all people.
This small
beach stretches along the Figueretas promenade, where many Spaniards have their siesta, which means there's a good view from 2pm onwards. The sea is very calm, but depending on wind conditions not
always as clean as it should be. The small ferry boat leaves every 30 minutes and for 9 Euros you are taken to the Chiringay bar on the gay beach of Es Cavallet.
Es Cavallet seems to be the main Gay beach on the island and is very popular with the gay crowd. It is located on the southern side of the island and there are buses in the main season that take you there from nearby towns. Plus don’t worry if it’s hot as you are more than welcome to let it all hang loose there. As during my research it seems that nudity is welcomed, well I suppose clothes can be overrated at times.
Meeting point in Es Cavallet: the beach bar Chiringay
I haven’t personally been just yet but it’s on my list of things to do, don’t you worry. There is a LOT more information about Es Cavallet in the ‘Beaches’ section of Ibiza-Spotlight. Click here for more details.
Other beaches I would recommend a visit...
Cala Conta – STUNNING sunset views from here, a very different looking beach too. Parts of it actually remind me of a Tropical Island.
Port Des Torrent – My local beach, typically families but a small cove which is just perfect for snorkelling. Seen plenty of gay couples spending time on this beach too, but in
peak season it can be very busy.
Aguas Blancas – a small and secluded beach near San Carlos, it’s perfect if you want to escape the normal tourist traps as it is very popular with the locals. Even though it isn’t
known as a nudist beach I have seen many a bare buttock (male and female) grace the beach.
Ses Salinas – A stunning beach with plenty of space for you to enjoy its views. If you like a lively beach with all types of people then this is your place. It also has a few beach
bars where you can enjoy the views and even dance the night away under the stars. Out of all the beaches I had been to I found this place had the most variety of people, young and old, all
nationalities plus very gay friendly.
My biggest advice from my 1st proper explorations of the island is for you to explore yourself. Spend the time trying to find the secret coves as Ibiza has many hidden gems to be discovered. Plus
it will give you some alone time that some of you may be craving. You will find that some of the special beaches are only accessible by boat, so if you really want that special cove then hiring one
would be a great idea.
