1 Star Ferrer Hostel, San Antonio, Ibiza Hostal Ferrer, San Antonio

Budget accommodation in one of the nicest areas of San Antonio,
close to the action - yet in a tranquil location

Hostal Ferrer is located on one of the nicest streets in the town of San Antonio, with the picturesque church square at the top and the harbour with its cafes and fountains, at the bottom.

Everything you could want for a 'fun in the sun' holiday at a budget price is close by; you reach the beach in a couple of minutes, bars and restaurants are on your doorstep and the famous West End is a mere tiptoe away.

The 21 double rooms are simply furnished with good quality pine furniture and plenty of storage space. 8 of the rooms enjoy a full bathroom and overlook the internal Patio; the remaining rooms have a shower room and private balcony overlooking the street. Fans and a safety deposit box can be hired from reception.

Beach babes have the choice of the many beaches in the bay, or catch a boat to the unspoilt coves of Cala Conta or Cala Bassa to swim in crystal clear waters. However if the effort is all too much, trip across the road to the stunning rooftop pool and bar at Casa Maria, where you can also enjoy their other facilities of a lounge area and cafe bar….for those essential cooling bottles of San Miguel

The vibe at the Hostal Ferrer is young and lively - arrive with friends and leave having made more! The Hostal appeals to a mix of age groups who are all seeking simple, budget accommodation.

My girlfriend and I stayed for 5 nights in late September 2010 and had a great time (despite two days of heavy rain!)

The only drawbacks are the lack of air-con and a bit of a climb up the stairs as there's no lift but other than that, brilliant.

Great value for money and the fact that you can use the ace rooftop swimming pool/bar across the street makes it even better. The service is excellent and very friendly, I'd recommend it to anyone looking to stay in Ibiza on a bit of a budget. Superb hostel/hotel and I'll definately be returning.

Oh and its only 5 minutes to the beach, West End and Bus Station - it doesn't get much better!

An excellent hotel (not hostel) for budget travelers who want to stay in the heart of San Antonio (Sant Antoni) in Ibiza.

It's roughly 2 minute walk to everywhere - the West End, the bus station, Pacha, Es Paradis, yet it is relatively quiet at night, except when there are special festivities going on in the street.

It's also difficult to find hotel prices lower than this - there are no hostels in Ibiza as far as I know, and if you want to go cheaper you'll have to either camp or share an apartment with a number of people.

The staff is very nice and helpful, especially John, who does the night shift. Have a chat with him over malt Whiskey and you may learn a bit more about Ibiza than the party scene :)

It's very basic, just two beds, a nice closet, and bathroom. No TV, no A/C - you shouldn't be watching TV in Ibiza anyway and it was cool enough for me in the August if you open the windows. The only complaint I have is that you don't get wireless internet in your rooms; you have to go to the reception/bar area.

Overall, I would recommend to anyone who ...
