Size: 300 metres long, 30 metres wide

A large curve of fine white sand from which there are fabulous views of the well known promontory of Cap Nono and San Antonio. The rocky promontories on either side of the sand are ideal for fishing or jumping off into the crystal clear water. Shady pine forests run along the back of the beach offering a shady respite from the heat. The sea here slopes gently over smooth sand and is ideal for messing about in the water and feeding the fish which will swim upto your hand! It's a very popular family beach in the summer months.
Tip: walk through the pine trees to the mid right of the beach and follow the track away form the beach. After 5 minutes you will come out on to rocks over looking the island of Conejera and an old watch tower that you can walk to - well worth the effort. Alternatively scramble up through the woodland at the side of the cafe bar where the ferry boats dock, walk to the right for about 3 minutes and you'll come across the Hermit's Garden full of religous creations. He lives in a cave in the cliffside.
Facilities: 2 snack bars and 2 restaurants are dotted along the rear of the beach. Toilets and changing rooms (very unusual for beaches) are available near the snack bars.
Getting there: Cala Bassa is reachable by car (10 mins from San Antonio) follow signs from either the San Antonio or San Jose direction. Good parking facilities are available. Or (much more fun) take the ferry from San Antonio, only 15 minutes and with regular services throughout the summer.
