We Are Rockstars launch full 2014 season lineup

The dirty dancefloor sister of Ibiza Rocks is back on Fridays in 2014.

Two seasons ago, back in 2012, it was announced that the Ibiza Rocks team were going to mix up their weekly programming by launching a new DJ led, electronic music focused, naughty sister event to the hugely successful Ibiza Rocks wednesdays gigs - We Are Rockstars, or WAR for short. This was their acknowledgement that the DJ's of today are often perceived to be the rockstars of their generation, something supported by the fact that the Rolling Stone magazine continues to pass judgement on a scene they hadn't been involved in until recently.

The gigs take place weekly from the 5th June until the 19th September on Friday nights, starting at 7pm and raging til' midnight.

Previous years have seen Example holding several dates over the season, joined by musical curator Zane Lowe, Fatboy Slim and Katy B, proving to have strong lineups. But this year the team have stepped it up several notches on the hype scale with some larger than usual bookings.

We have some huge WAR favourites back in 2014 after oustanding sets in previous years - Zane Lowe, Mark Ronson, Example + DJ Wire, Fatboy Slim, and resident Doorly. But joining these guys are the hugely in demand duo's of Gorgon City, 2manydj's and Maribou State. All sporting two talented artists who have found their niche in the music world and seem to turn everything they produce into a dancefloor bomb. This is undoubtedly the biggest season lineup WAR has produced since its inception.

The headline acts are all supported by a host of artists from the electronic world who are hugely respected and on their way to bigger things, representing bass music, drum 'n' bass, dubstep and beyond. Radio 1's Monki and Toddla T features, drum 'n' bass aficionado Wilkinson, Javeon and Hannah Wants too. All of these guys and more form the backbone of the party and even the guys below them on the lineup know their stuff and warrant your attention right from the start.

The closing party will see a special, and now almost traditional, collaboration from Zane Lowe and Mark Ronson in A-Yo. These two together have developed an understanding over years of having fun together and turning it into something a little more serious.

Let's not forget the Ibiza Rocks DJ competition, currently running on the Mixcloud website - the same place you'll find our own podcast series to stream - where you could win a chance to see how the island works on a professional level and kickstart your DJ career. Who knows, you could end up being resident in 2015?

Tickets for the WAR shows are priced between 35€ and 40€, week depending, for standard tickets. A bit more for VIP.
